Echo?
When I'm on the phone I can hear myself echo (not all the time maybe two-three times a week). Does anyone else have this problem? How can I get rid of it?

That happens to me sometimes, but only when I'm talking to someone that is using a landline phone. My old Audiovox CDM-8900 phone used to do that too. I don't think theres any way to get rid of it.

Do *228 send, then option number 2. This will update your roaming capabilities and should help with the echo.

I was having this problem as well with my a530, and I could not get it fixed. I had them update the firmware, over-air programing update, PRL, and then had the Verizon store tech do a "troubleshooting" session but nothing worked. So I used my New Every 2 credit and got an a670 for free. But now it still happens, and it's a brand new phone! So I think huagmire is right, it's just something that happens from time to time and there's not really anything that can be done about it.

Well you have to do *228 every couple of weeks, they are always updating call areas. If it doesn't work, then it must be the area you are in.

*228 will NOT correct an echo issue. First, try bumping down the volume a notch. If that does not work, keep a precise record of when and where this is happening then contact tech support. Odds are if turning down your volume did not work, the cell company has a echo canceller out at one of their switches

The occurrence of an "echo" is common to all cell phone service providers. I used to work as a manager for Sprint, AT&T, and T Mobile and am very familiar with it.
The echo you hear is a result of 2 towers picking up your signal. This can occur when you are in an area that is between 2 towers or are traveling in an area bewteen 2 towers and 1 tower does not properly handoff your call to the other.
