Can I replace the LCD screens?

If this is a duplicate request, I apologize. I am not sure what happened when I submitted my original request, so I am trying again. (This is my first time using the forum)

My husband and I each have the Samsung A670 phone with Verizon, and are actually very happy with them.

My husband had dropped his phone and we noticed the external screen now displays sporadically, but we live with it. Then, the internal screen started having a “life of its own”. Sometimes, the wallpaper and words would be flipped around (like you were viewing it in a mirror), or the screen display is split in “quarters” and one or two of the quarters would be blacked out, or other times it was just fine.

We found that when the interior display was wrong, we could close the phone and snap it against our hand (not hard) and open the phone and the display would be OK.

Then I had it one day and dropped it and stepped on it (oops). Now, there is a big crack on the interior screen, but it doesn’t seem to flip around backwards any longer. The phone still works perfectly, except for the display issues.

We have had these phones for 18 months and did NOT purchase the “no fault” warranty through Verizon.

Does anyone know if I can replace the exterior and interior LCD screens myself? If so, (1) how would I do that, (2) could you suggest where I might get the replacement screens and (3) possibly how much it costs?

Could any of you Verizon employees tell me if Verizon can refurbish the phone for me? If so, could you tell me how much I would be looking at? (I am not looking for an exact figure, just a ball park figure (i.e. less than $25, $25 to $50, or $50 to $100, etc)

I’ve been looking for a used phone to replace the one with the cracked screen, but haven’t found one “cheap” enough yet. I’d like to fix the phone now if it doesn’t cost too much. If the expense is too high, the worst scenario I have is living with the cracked screen until July when my 2 year contact is up and I can get replacement phones. It is very important to me that both of us have the same make and model phone because the attachments are the same, plus I don’t have to read two different instruction manuals.

Any help or suggestions you can offer would be appreciated.
