flashing light

While I was visiting in CA my power light in the top right hand corner started to blink green intermittently. I called Verizon and got some story about roaming even though I was not in a roaming area. Now that I'm back in CT it's still doing it. Has this happened to anyone else; and what's it all about?

The service indicator light is supposed to blink green if you are receiving a signal. It is normal. You can turn it off if you choose.
