Name Dial & Contacts
Just got my phone 2 days ago...love it! Very simple to program even without user guide. Having a little trouble with the voicecommands/contacts. I went to verizon and downloaded all my contacts from an old LG phone. When I go into Contacts, and type a name, I don't see the icons before the name...basically i see the name (ex. John) listed three times and i have no clue if it's home, office, etc. - is this because i downloaded my contacts from my old phone, as opposed to entering each contact? Do I have to edit my list, and if so, how to include the icons? Also, when using voice command, name dial - same thing, same name shown three times with no icon. The voice command chooses the first name listed. In the user guide, it says it will...

I don't know what happened as to why your icon settings didn't transfer, but to edit your contacts on the a670, here's what to do...
Go into a contact,
Scroll down to the category underneath the "Speed Dial" category.
Use your left soft key to Edit.
Scroll left to right until you find the category you want.
Hit OK.
Unfortunately, you may have to do this for all your contacts, but at least you'll be able to distinguish between the contacts...

Thanx so much for your help! Couple of questions - My contacts are sorted by name. When i open the phone and hit the right soft key for "contact" will i be able to view the icons next to the name, or is is just a list of names with no icons? Also, I've downloaded ringtones using eringers.com (great website...and it's free, yippee!). My phone only allows me to save 10 ringtones in "my melody"...is that right? Thank again... 🙂

When I look at my contacts, I don' see the icons listed next to the name. You can look up phone numbers by group scrolling left to right and that might help if you take a person with multiple numbers...I don't know how else to combat this...
