Know how to sync the Notification volume with the Ringer volume?

First off, I have a love affair with Motorola. They were my first cell phone brand, and aside from a brief stint with Kyocera (shudder), and my Blackberry Curve (meh), I've been with Motorola for the better part of 15 years.

I loved the original Droid, and from there moved to the Droid 3. Both were awesome, and if not for the sad excuse for battery life (but what else can you expect after nearly 2 years with each phone?), I had zero complaints.

All that being said, I just graduated to the Razr Maxx HD...lots of things to love (a crazy amount of onboard memory, 4G service, pretty screen with bright colors, awesome battery life so far), but also a couple to hate. Some things I already know I cannot get back, like a real button QWERTY keyboard (womp womp 😢 ), but I'm hoping that one of these other things is just a case of me not being smart enough....

How do you tie your Notification volume and Ringer volume together?!?! Using the volume buttons on the side of the phone only changes the volume of the regular phone ringtone...and does not affect the volume for things that use Notification noises, like text messages and email notices. The only way I've found to adjust the Notification volume so far, is to actually go into the volume settings and change it on screen.

Am I overlooking something?? Help!
