Kyocera smart sonic receiver using tissue conduction
This tissue conduction technology was actually named by popular science magazine Nov 2012 issue as one the top inventions in 2012. Also, you may want actual hear it to really understand how it works. Kyocera demonstrated how it would work in loud environments at the May 2012 CTIA show in New Orleans and won a bunch of awards. Kyocera has actually launched several phones in Japan. Just check out the web for Kyocera tissue conduction for info. It's really going to change the way people hear on by not having to find the sweet spot on the receiver anymore. You can place the screen anywhere against your ear to hear more clearly because now there are two paths for sound to reach your ear drum. The first is sound waves and second is the vibration created throughout the entire display to conduct sound. It really is amazing how it cuts out all the ambient noise when you can press the whole screen against your ear. In fact, you can have ear protection or a headset on and just touch headset with the phone, and the vibration waves come through straight to the ear drum. Pretty amazing if you ask me, but try it out when it launches in March. Check out the web for Kyocera tissue conduction.
