I have a A670 and think it is ok, but do not like how you cannot get the outside LCD to light up with any outside keys. I do like the size of it compared to the 9900 however. What are your guys opinions? I am within my 15 days.

you gotta compare and contrast
CDM-9900:
-Tri Mode
3.33 hours of talk, 15.8 days of standby
260k main LCD, 240x320
300 phone book
65k color STN external LCD(that lights up with the push of a side button)
Speakerphone
Camera(CCD lense!!), Video capabilities not smooth as butter but flow better than A-670, also can send videos and not limited to only two videos stored at the same time.

SCH-A670:
All digital
very small
65k main lcd, 128x160
2.9 hours of talk time, 7 days of standby
500 phone book
65k external LCD
extremley small
camera(CMOS), and video capable(can only store 2)

once you see the screen of the 9900 you will never look back at the samsung again even if it is smaller the screen makes up for it, as does the spe...

Thanks! I think I am going to make the switch. That outer LCD light deal just annoys the heck out of me.

Thanks!

I would not switch, the a670 is waaaayyyyyy better quality in my opinion. How hard is it to hold down a key for 1 sec to get the light to come on?

If you can wait a few weeks the LG 6100 will have an outer LCD that is ALWAYS on. True it is not color. But, if you really don't want to be bothered pushing buttons to light up the external LCD it might be an option for you. Personally, I'd trade color and off for non-color and always on. Color is not a big deal for me.

Having the ability to glance down and see the outer LCD (to see the time or if a new VM has been received for example) at any time like when I'm on a treadmill or just walking down the street is a real plus. But, that's me. It's all about personal prefere...

How far away is the 6100? This is a good phone at a great price...if I have to live with it for two years...would rather have a great phone at a good price.

Thanks.

The vx-6000 is no longer listed on Verizon's website, so I imagine it will be avail soon.

You can get the vx-7000 for just $50 more than the 6000 with a 2 year upgrade & has a ton more features. The reason I chose the cdm 9900 is that it is tri-mode whereas the 7000/A670
are all-digital. All-digital phones have a tendency of wanting to go to pcs mode, causing the phone to "roam" more often. The A-670 doesn't allow you to send video messages like the 7000 or the 9900. What is the point of capturing video's if you can't share them?
