Do you have to activate the free phone in order to get it, or will they just give you the new phone, not caring what you do with it?

Not here... I bought one for my account at $149 and had it activated immediately... I liked it alot, so I went back and bought two more for my sons... $149 each, no activations at all... my sons have Verizon accounts in other cities and I am getting them the phones as Xmas presents... You can change your own phone in your online account management area... We do it quite often...
