MobileWeb4U free ringtones???
For anyone who has MobileWeb4U (discussed in depth in previous threads), there is a site under Fun Stuff, Humor called Bacon 2 Go that offers free ringtones.
The problem is, I can't figure out how to download them. When you click on a tone you get a screen with file information, but no option to download.
Has anyone gotten this to work?

Sorry, haven't tried it out because I was able to download the customizable ringtones to get mp3's on my phone as discussed earlier. I'll post if I'm able to figure it out.

I just received this from a MobileWeb4U rep.:
"Verizon does not allow for the download of ringtones from anywhere other than get it now, or if you have a picture phone, via a service such as 3gupload.com"
I wish there was a way to bypass this. I browsed 3gupload.com and even there you have to set up a vzwpix account to download apps for verizon.
What is the cheapest vzwpix plan available? I know that's what you use to download your own created ringtones. Too bad you can't send them to email and download them via MobileWeb4U without having to pay for vzwpix...

Have you tried just saving the ringtones you find to your computer then emailing them to your phone? 😕
If you use the .mid rintones you find on the Internet, it works perfectly fine and you can send multiple files at once to save message cost. 🙂 Works well!! 😁

Without having Verizon's own mobile internet service, how do I email something to my phone? I've read of people sending sound files embedded in picture messages, but I don't subscribe (yet, anyway) to a picture plan.

You don't need to subscribe to a VZW pix package, although the cheapest would be 20pix for 2.99/month. If your phone is EMS capable, which the 9900 is, then you would just pay as you go for .25 per picture message where you would then save the sound when it arrives to your phone.

You have to download it to a PC first, and then e-mail it to your phone from your PC. The e-mail address of your phone is "your phone [email protected]" or "[email protected]" with the x's being your phone number. I don't think there is any way to send tones directly to your phone from a ringtone website without having a subscription to VZW mobile web. It's a way for VZW to restrict the things you can do with your phone so that you will subscribe to additional services. I follow the above procedure for getting mp3 ringtones onto my phone (discussed extensively in this forum), and it works great! Hope this helps.
