Audiovox CDM-9900
AUDIOVOX 9900 IS SCRAPPED!!
Audiovox completely messed up their reputation with the 8000 series which was made by Cruitel and probably would still be in the business of making cell phones if they would've simply let Toshiba make all the Audiovox models. The Audiovox 8600 and 8900 were pulled from the shelves about 4 times because of problems. Basically the 8000 series lost money while the 9000 series made money yet the losses outweighed the gains significantly.
The 9500 made by Toshiba was a jem and had a magnificent screen. The 9900 probably isn't going to get that final approval seeing as how it is coming so late and it more than likely will be scrapped.
It's time to switch views to the vx7000 or the v710 which will be coming out very soon.
Now many of you are questioning Verizon's motives for doing such thinking that they are behind in technology and this phone would make a impact on closing the technology gap. The truth is that the 9900 was never going to come out anyway, they were too far behind Sprint when they wanted to release it.
Everyone must realize that while Sprint spends its money on getting the latest and greatest phones, Verizon spends its money on upgrading the system and whatever is extra on the technology. Verizon is closing the gap when it comes to phones but the 9900 won't be an addition to the upcoming lineup. Nobody has to like it and everyone can call Verizon dumb for not releasing the "best out of the bunch" as many people believe but it simply isn't going to happen.

You said that it "probably isn't going to be released." Do you know this for a fact? If so how? Why wouldn't they say something. I wrote to Audiovox who told me it was waiting Verizon approval but was ready to go. Aldcon says it's going to be released in August. Someone must be in the know.
Yes I do know this as a fact, just as many other Verizon employees know this as a fact. Verizon isn't going to say anything becuase they never said they were going to carry the phone anyway, that is why they do not speculate it's part of the "Worry Free Guarantee".
Regardless of what Audiovox says, they don't tell Verizon to put a phone out by a certain date. The 9900 hasn't passed any testing wha...

if VZW did scrap this phone, can vox then release to alltel or whatever? Also, here in LA 2 stores that I know the managers and give me scoops etc, both had the vox lady in last week w the 9900 and were told its coming but maybe out here in the west, we find out last.
Since VZW said no to a phone then yes Audiovox/Toshiba can move to another carrier to sell their product. Here in the east, we've been told that it isn't coming out. It won't be coming and honestly if it does come it'll be horribly behind in technology like the a610. Also if you've ever played with the a670, it feels a year behind in technology as well.
This is my first time on this forum. I hope this helps anyone who really wants the 9900.
