Audiovox CDM-9900

WHat up everybody? I've had this phone for 6days now and was doing alright until I had a "No Service" banner in several places while my other phones (Moto V60i and 120e) had full signal. This pissed me off. Called cust serv, they recommended I exchange it, so I did. I continue to have fewer bars with the new phone and often no bars in areas where my Motos are full signal, or at least 3bars.
I wanted to know if other peeps are seeing the same pattern. Before anyone barks at me, I'm aware that Audio 9900 has max 4bars and motos have 5bars, but my question is more along the lines of comparing 1-2bars on Audio that are in constant flux vs 5bars on Moto and solid. I have only seen 4bars solid once on my two 9900's (in 5days). That is a huge dif...

Does the 9900 have something analogous to Driving Mode on the LG VX4500? If so, how does it work and compare to the LG?

Is there a reason as to why I cannot use GIN? I used it before on my old phone and for some reason it comes up with Unable to Connect (534) or (557) plus many other 500 numbers?

Is it because I need them to enable the program or something? There is a place to enter in a security code, but I don't know the code, anyone else do?

Also, I cannot receieve text messages, another huge problem for me, I haven't been in digital mode, so I was figuring I must be in digital to receieve messages, is that it?

And in order to send picture messages, do you have to get the picture messaging package, or can you just send pictures with a fee for each picture? 🙂

Hi, i got the 9900 on monday, and im experiencing something wierd. When it comes to text messaging and everything else, i recieve the beeping noise and the notification, but when someone leaves me a voicemail, no notice shows up or beeping. So i called my voicemail and i found i got 10 new voicemails that i was never aware of. What could this be?? Is it just me??? Yes i did setup the voicemail alert on beep too, but for some reason no notice or no beep occurs when someone leaves me a voicemail. Can anyone help or explain?? Thanks.

I'd be curious to hear what your real life experience with battery life on the 9900 might be. The listed life is 3.3 hours talk time and 330 hours of standby.

I have a Motorola T720 which has a listed standby time of 225 hours; I'm lucky if I really get 60 hours. Excuse my skepticism, but once bitten twice shy.

I tried out this phone in the store and couldn't help but notice that when writing text (such as in a text message), the words have huge spaces between them. Is that normal?

Also, letter such as y, g, p, and q don't have descenders. That is, the y doesn't have a tail that extends below the baseline.

Was I just seeing a pre-release phone, or is the default font all messed up on every phone?

Does anyone know if the different ringers can be assigned to different phone book contacts?

Has anyone figured out how to disable the terrible startup/shutdown "music"? I'm a lawyer and there's no way I can buy a phone that I can't turn off in court discretely. 🙂

As stated previously, the right side of my keypad is not as bright as the rest. Therefore you can see the numbers brightly but not the letters. If it seems to be a quirk with the phone cause large numbers of us have the problem, I will live with it. If it is just a few sporadic phones even for my $49.00 I want one that works properly since I am withing my 15 days.So, let's weigh in on this one. Thanks all.

where the heck do you activate the flashlight....or is it not even possible?

Hey everyone, I want to get a new phone. I can't decide between the Audiovox 9900 or the moto V710. The moto V710 seems to have more features but your going to pay for them (319.00), where as the Aud 9900 has a great price (49.00). Reception is very important to me. Could anybody who has used both this phones give me some advice (pros and cons of both phones) on which one to get?

I think I finally made up my mind which phone to go with. After reading all the reviews on here about the Audiovox CDM-9900, it doesn't seem to make sense to go with anything else! I was also considering the LG VX-3200. I know that's just a basic phone, but I wasn't really looking for much more, but with all the features the 9900 has and for such a good price, I think I'd be a fool not to go for it!

After the promotion of this phone being $50 ends what is the price with activation gonna be? I just wanna know if the price is gonna go up to $100+ with a rebate after the promotion. Basically is the $50 price with activation the promotion or is the free 3200 the promotion?

Does this new 9900 phone come bundled with CDROM software or a USB cable that allows you to download the pics/video from the phone to your PC/laptop? Otherwise what would be the best (cheapest) way to send your phone pics/video out without having to signup for Verizon's "Get It Now" or "Mobile Web" or "Text Msg" services. Thanks

I have gone through 2 of these phones already, here's my problem...

When someone calls my phone it shows up with their name and number on both the inside and outer LCD, but when I miss a call it shows up as "No Number" on my missed call screen. So, I called my phone and it showed up with name and number and when I ignored it the Missed Call Screen said "No Number". I returned the first on ein and they said that it was a defect in the phone (they tried it in the store and it did the same thing). It's doing it on this second phone I have too! What's up? Anyone know?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated...thank you so much!

Now my issue is that I cannot get more than one. It says media gallery full when i try to send another ringer to my phone and it wont let me save. How can this be resolved...
