A few things to note:
You will lose all data on your phone including ringtones, pictures, phone numbers stored in your phone, settings, etc. You should back up everything beforehand using Mobile PhoneTools.
I highly recommend only flexing your phone and not updating the firmware; the firmware has been reported to cause some problems.
The V600 flexware version in the 3rd post is the same flexware I'm using on my V400. I've been using it for months and have had no problems whatsoever. I suggest you go with it.
If you were wanting a V400 unbranded flex, I'm not sure where you could get one.

Yep, that's the flex version I've been using. Rock solid for the past few months.
Good stuff. A bit troublesome and iffy for most people to flex their phone, but I'm sure glad I did mine.
Now you just need to fix the earpiece volume issue (which all VXXX phones suffer from, though apparently with newer phones Cingular has made a slight improvement) and you'll be set, other than a few nice tweaks that can be accomplished by editing seem files.

Like I mentioned in my post, I would not recommend you update the firmware on your phone. You will gain nothing from it and it can cause problems on your phone, such as possibly making your camera stop working. Only update the flexware.
