Motorola V400
Not the wrong cable....still can't access mobile explorer
No lump or "box" in the cable, and I have checked with pictures of the correct cable for sale.
I would also agree with both of you that I had the wrong cable except...when I first got the cable and software a couple of months ago I was able to transfer about 6 pictures to my laptop. Then my battery was dead and I had problems with the internet connection so I re-installed the mobile phonetools software. Here is where my problem lies....I can't re-create what I did originally. And I have unistalled and re- installed several thousand times and can not figure out what I am doing wrong. I am at a total loss! Any help is appreciated. Have you tried COMPLETELY uninstalling anything you have related to MPT first prior to reinstalling? I would start with that and then follow the directions for installing MPT word for word (making sure you don't connect the phone until it tells you to). The directions can be found in the "Guide" folder of the MPT 1.23c download and is in .pdf format.

I am going to try it on my pc rather than my laptop and see if i can do it that way. I don't have much hope for this program though. It has never been specific for my V400 and I think that might be my problem. I'll let you know how it goes on my pc.

After you get everything installed and run the live updates, the phone image on the screen will change to the v400. It's the same program everybody else is using and should work just fine. I just finished installing it on my laptop this past weekend. If you have any questions you can send me an email.
