cingular's been mailing out a metric ton of information and advertising about their services and such since the merger... the magazine sized brochure i got today had a full page spread on the A630. that doesn't sound like cancellation to me. hurrah!

I think cingular has better service, they have a bigger coverage area. im waiting for cingular because t-mobile doesnt have service in raleigh north carolina. I CANT WAIT!!!!!

But...Cingular has decided not to include the Carolina's and Puerto Rico in the merger. They are being exchanged for another market by a different carrier. Not sure if I say who so I won't. But i'm sure as soon as I post this a hundred Cingular employees will follow-up with the answer, So be patient. 🙄

Actually the Carolinas and Puerto Rico were included in the merger but Cingular then made a market swap/buy with TritonPCS (Suncom), the AT&T North Carolina spectrum for Triton's Virginia markets. Peurto Rico was divested. Cingular still maintains its original NC spectrum and now gains Virginia spectrum. This leaves T-mobile in a position to eventually buy Triton to obtain markets in the Carolinas. 😉

Leads me to believe that Cingular dosen't have service there now and they are expecting to get service after the merger.

No, that's really the point I was trying to make, Cingular already has North Carolina spectrum, the spectrum they gave to Triton was the AT&T spectrum, so they still have coverage in North Carolina.
