LG VX-7000

Does anyone here know of any proven signal strength boosters / solutions? I live in a "garden" condo in Chicago with thick concrete walls. Therefore, my reception is very bad and spotty. No matter what service, it is bad in my apartment. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as any sort of signal booster or antenna which can be attached or anything? Being "unwired" would be nice, but not absolutely critical.
