Help With The VX-7000 Price
I have a question about the price of the 7000. I know that the VX-8000 is coming soon (possibly this month but for sure by the end of Feb., or so they say). Does anyone know if the price of the 7000 will drop when the 8000 is released, and if so, by how much? My T-Mobile contract is up on 1/23 and I would really like to switch to Verizon. I started looking at the 7000 back around xmas when Verizon was running a promo where if you bought 1 7000 you got up to 3 more FREE! Great deal and I was gonna jump on it at that time but my contract doesnt end until 1/23. I figured that Verizon would probably be running a similar promo this month so I put off the purchase. Now I want to kick myself because they are offering the 3200 instead of the 7000 as the promo phone that you can get with the 7000. I talked to Verizon to see if they would still honor the old promo but they said no. Does anyone know if they will be offering this promo again soon? Price is a big issue for me. Whatever phone I decide to get, I have to get a second one for my wife so the promo would have been great. I am thinking of the 6100 as a back up incase the price of the 7000 doesnt drop or they dont change their promo. I read that Verizon has a new version of the firmware for the 6100 which is supposed to fix the issue previously reported. Anyone have any opinions of the 6100? Thanks for taking the time to read this LONG post (sorry about the length).

If we can learn from Verizon past practices the 7000 will be discounted to make way for the 8000.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from the 6100. I've had a 7000 since they were released. I love this phone. A family member had a 6100 and was luckly to return it before the 15 day trail period was up. People wil tell you that the bugs, and there were many, with the 6100 have been fixed. This phone still is nowhere close to a 7000 in voice quality. A 6100 sounds like a cheap walkie talkie when compared to a 7000. The 7000 never had any bugs to begin with. Does It sound like I relly like the 7000? Remember the money you may save by getting a 6100 will be forgotten long after your disapointment with the phone remains.

It all depends on the certain features you want on your phone. I myself have the 7000 and i love it. With the 7000, you can record your own ringtones, make video clips, and picture quality is much better. Although the 7000 is a dualband phone, you can go into force mode and choose accordingly. The 6100 offers a protective lens cap for the camera which is kinda useless but i guess neat at the same time. It is also a trimode phone which would allow you to receive better reception in rural areas. There is also the speakerphone capability that the 7000 does not have. As for me i believe the 7000 is a better phone as a whole, but like i said, it is all about personal preference and what specific features will fit your needs.
