They are on sale here in Cleveland. All I can say is "WOW!".

I like everything about it so far - but I have only had it a few hours.

I'll report more later. Curious to hear what others think!

206 - Independence. I also called Beachwood last night and they said it would be for sale today, as well.

$299 less $70 rebate (I came to Verizon with customer-owned equipment and utilized the upgrade policy). They did not yet have rebate forms - I'll need to call them later to get one.

Also, there is an accessory pack that comes with the phone. Not all stores have all the accessories yet. Stay tuned in with your store to make sure you get all you are entitled to get.

possibly because - according to the posts here - it isn't yet universally available. Just a guess.

Best bet is to call around. That's what I did. Good luck.

Some questions..

How is the readability of the external screen in normal standby mood..i.e. without having to manually push a button to activate a backlight...comparing to Samsung a670 which is hard to read without backlight activated.

How is ringer and earpiece volume..so many new phones seem to not have loud ringers or earpieces.

Thanks

The outside screen is very easy to read. You can adjust the brightness, the length of time it remains on ( 7, 15, 30 seconds, always off). After the designated time, it goes into standby and is black.

Additionally, you can select multiple wallpapers for the inside and outside screen. You might as well leave the outside screen alone - between all the status indicators, the banner and clock, you can't really see the micture. Big deal.

Ring is LOUD (at least to me) and earpiece volume is same. When the phone rings, the flash blinks all sorts of colors. Pretty tough to miss the phone ringing if it's on vibrate or silent.

So far, I love it!

Thanks for the great info...to clarify...so when the outside screen goes "black" if youglance at the phone with the flip closed you would not be able to quickly see signal strength or battery level or even know if the phone is on (other than perhaps the slow blinking service light)...is that correct. Just seems like some simple LCD displays are easier to quickly tell if phone is on, etc..without having to press a bottonto light up the external display?

You are correct - when it's black, you can't see a thing. it's just as if you turned the power off.also, there is no blinking service light.

When you turn the phone on or off it's like a multi media show - lights, pictures, great sound. pretty cool. I'm sure you can adjust that, as well

One more thing - there are three stages to the lighting for both the inside and outside. On (which is bright), dim, and off. I have it set so there are several seconds between stages.

Does it have vibration only mode (besides manner mode)?

BTW, that's why I like the simple outside LCD, which ALWAYS display battery status, date & time, and signal strength. I hate those fancy LCD's on the outside.

Who needs a cool looking phone which doesn't offer some standard features that has been used years long in all phones?

Back to my question: Does it have vibration mode? (probably you can try it while pushing the side up/down buttons from the phone for the ringer settings.

Thanks - but I asked you I don't need that sh*t manner mode (hold * for 3 seconds).

I mean VIBRATE ONLY and THEN RING mode. Like LG used to make all the years on all phonse until the VX-4500. And as all other are still offer.

Manner mode will not only just vibrate all incoming calls, but also mute key beeps, mute message alerts, vibrate your scheduls, and so on.

I don't need that! This mode is good for people going in public places or to a meeting.

I need the old feature "vibration only" with all settings around. That is, vibration volume, vibrate first and then ring, but key beeps should be heared, an so message alerts and scheduled tasks.

LG, Please! We beg you! Don't do that. You have the best phones out today, don't screw ...

While I totally agree that that was a useful feature, it is still possible. Get the ringtone you like on your computer, put a two second silence at the beginning of it, put it on your phone, and set your phone to vibrate and high. If you don't want to mess with bitpim, mms message it to yourself (it costs what - $0.25?).

Yeah, I wish I could just do it through my phone to. Because I REALLY liked - I didn't have to put my phone in manner mode whenever I went anywhere, because I could always catch the call when it vibrated and silence it if I needed to. It was driving me crazy - then I thought of the ringtone-silence thingy.

First time, long time. Thanx to everybody for all of the information over the past couple of weeks.....and a couple of LOL's over some of the bickering. Although I have not heard anybody talk about MI on these threads, thought I'd let you know that I picked mine up in Metro Detroit today. $299 less $70 mail in on a two year additional line. Don't know how much of MI has it, but it's at the Southfield MI store.
