User Manual

I just downloaded the manual for the VX700 and read through it quickly. It indicates that this is a digital phone only, so I don't know about the trimode talk that I read a few messages down. I have the VX6000 and love it but have one major complaint about it, the keys light up for a very short period of time and I find this a problem at night. The manual for the VX7000 indicates that the back-lighting (and I assume this means the keys - am I right?) can be set for up to 30 seconds, but also for on all the time. If this is true I think I might upgrade to this phone - I am not too impressed with the color of the 7000 but I really want to have the keys lit up all the time at night. Well unfortunately I am wrong. Back-Lighting is for the screen not the keys. So I need to know from those of you who say you already have the phone. How long do the keys stay lit when you open the phone? I estimate that on the 6000 they stay lit for about 5 seconds and the go off, and there is no way to change this. What about the 7000? I do not see anywhere to change this in the manual.

I also downloaded the manual, and interesting: It doesn't mention even a word about the keys back-lighting.

I have the VX-4600 which DOES have a seperate setting for key lighting, and one of the settings is ALWAYS ON. Well, it's not always, b/c if you let the phone open (not flipped) for more than a few minutes, both the LCD and the keys will go off, even it's set to ALWAYS ON. But that's only when the phone is not in use, I guess.

As I see it, LG will miss in every phone another feature. For instance, MY 4600 does not have vibration only mode, while the 6000 does have.

So we need an answer from any VX-7000 user: does the key lights work together with the main LCD setting? If not, how long does the key light after the last key press...
