I've been asked by my father to help him program his Samsung (310 I believe) and I've briefly owned the A790. I've spent about 30 minutes messing around with the LG 4500. I own a Nokia. I wouldn't have anything to do with the Samsung, any model.

I was very disappointed with the ability of the A790 to actually ring when a call was made to the phone. Signal strength had nothing to do with the problem as it was almost always at full strength. The menu was hardly intuitive. The ring tones are great if you want dance music, lousy if all you need is a telephone "ringer" ringtone. The Samsung doesn't send the ringtone, any of them, through the hands free headset.

Samsung needs a lot of work but that is just what I wanted/needed. I wan...

I would go with the 7000 if I were to choose an All Digital handset. Remember that the A670 will not be able to send Flix(Video messages) and the 7000 will. So let's recap. With the A670, one can take 15 second video clips and basically replay them on the handset. With the VX7000, one can take 15 second video clips and send them to any email address as well as another VZW pal with a 7000. Ummmm...yeah. I know which I would go with. But I live in Alabama so I am awaiting the tri-mode v710. And waiting and waiting...

There both nice phones and have perks so you really need to see what is better for you. The 670 cant send video and may or may not be able to in the future. Our rep said they might do a software uprade that will en able it to do it in the future. The 7000 has more video and a rotating camera. The 670 has a clearer LCD and is smaller. Receptions wise its too early to tell but from what I have seen selling verizon we have more problems with LG phones than samsung phones(very few samsung come back for technical issues). Then again we sell more LG due to there lower price tag but LG's lower price sometimes worries me that the quality isnt there. Unless you need to send video I would get the 670. Size is a big factor and other than video sending ...

To clear up any mis com. on the A670 it will send video, it has not launched yet. but I would always go with any other model besides LG. I don't care how many are sold, LG should have stayed on the drawing board to figure out what the problem is. Samsung on the other hand have had on issues unless the the phone has been dropped on concrete. would say more but I have got to hold my lips closed. 😁

Help me to understand this please. I was under the impression that the Samsung would be able to send once the service was available from VZW. I thought this because it is listed as having "MMS" under the specs. This will make the difference between the two phones if one can't send or receive videos.

you will be able once it is available. 7000 will only send to another 7000. 670 goes wherever you send it.

The 670 is not able to send video messages. If that was the case then flix messaging would have been available a long time ago when the 670 was released. The videos that the 670 records is not even real video. It takes (I forget how many) simultaneous pictures and puts them together to resemble a video. This is the main reason why the 670 can not send the "videos". The 7000 can send them to other 7000s as well as any email address and other future video phones thru Verizon. If you do not believe me then just call a Verizon rep.

That is all any digital "camera" does is take a bunch of rapid photo's. Like the way a cartoon looks like it is moving.

Is it a software issue that keeps the 670 from sending? If you really can't send, what can you do with them? Can you download to a computer?

I'll confirm that our local VZW store claims the 670 WILL NOT be able to send videos. Didn't ask if you can d/l them, though.... 🤭

As of know the verizon rep(in the new york area) has said that there may be software upgrade issued for the 670 to send video. This isnt definte yet and I'm hoping for it but I wouldnt hold my breath. But its verizon so who knows what there gonna do.

sorry to inform you, but I am a service tech. THAT 7000 IS GOING TO CAUSE MORE TROUBLE THAN YOU THINK. it's going to turn out just like that sorry 4400, and the very low service 6000. 670 on the other hand will do just what I told you. 7000 wont be able to send to other phones in the futher do to data mismatches. LG suld have made that phone able to send vid to another phone before they released it. if the software wont allow it now, you can imagine what going to happen when they try the software. But the V710 will have all your worries and troubles all behind them. relase date is mid JULY or early AUGUST.

I got the 6000 the day it was released, and sold it on ebay the day I got my 7000. In all that time it was the best phone w no worries or problems ever. The 7000 Ive had for a week or so and so far its the greatest thing since slice bread. My opinion. You have yours, I have mine. As for the 710? PUH LEASE, that phone may never b released and if it will, there will b returns the first week. It is riddled w bugs and is still in its 500th testing and VZW might as well scrap it and wait a couple months for the 8000 which u know will b perfect out of the box.

I have a good feeling the 8000 has completed or is damn near completed on the testing side. It seems out of all phones the LG's pass VZW's tests w/ flying colors. Now its just a matter of when VZW rolls out ev-do and wants to release the 8000. I can't wait!!!
