vx 7000, or vx 7000a being offered by VZW??

Which model are they selling? Could someone who bought one please tell me, because trimode is a requirement for me..

Not the "a". If you look, most of the next few phones that VZW is launching do not have analog. The 760, 7000 and 8000 all are just digital. The 9900 may never come out. If it does, your only options will be that one or the Moto phones.

Obviously cost is an issue. It costs less $$ to design / build a phone without this capability.

I only am traveling in large cities so this is actually a plus. It keeps the phone from bouncing to a stronger analog tower from a weaker digital. If you are worried about how long your battery will last you don't want it switching on you.

Anyhow, if you need analog you need to hope Moto or Audiovox some day can release a phone.
