RINGTONES...

I have the LG VX7000 and I'm loving it!

I wanted to know what's the best way to get ringtones on it.

I know some people simply hold the phone up to a speaker and record.

I know some people just get ringtones from "Get It Now" for $1.99 each or so.

I know some people send upload it to the vzwpix.com site and then send it to there phone for 25 cents.

I tried this last method. I uploaded 92KB midi ringtones to the vzwpix.com site and sent it to my phone, and then I sent the same rintones along with a picture and both times it said "Failed To Play Pix MSG" The picture showed up find though.

Can anyone please help? Is anyone else having/had the same problem?

Anyone know how clear ringtones are if you just record them onto the phone?

I'm guessing they're clearer if you email them as attachments?

Here are some common reasons why people are unable to send themselves ringtones succesfully:

-Make sure you are signed up for pix messaging. You don't need to have a package, you can have a "pay as you go" plan.

-make sure you've converted the ringtone into a midi file, ex: Overnight Celebrity.mp3 -> Overnight Celebrity.mid

-make sure you NOT sending it from vzwpix.com,
try sending it from another e-mail address, maybe your aol e-mail address, and it as an attachment. It didn't work with my MSN e-mail address, so I signed up for a yahoo acount and it worked, you might want to use them.

If you are still having problems, you can e-mail me at [email protected]

This is false.

Verizon doesn't want you to know that it is possible to get around there "Get It Now" service for ringtones because they lose income this way. This is the same reason the bluetooth on the V710 will be restricted and will only be good for wireless headsets, and speakerphones...

For us novices, how do you change mp3 to mid? Is that the only extension (or format) the 7000 can use? Thanks.

I sent myself a mp3 file and it worked. the only thing was that it was a small file.so i think the phone can handle mp3 files. whenever the pix message drops it, it means the file was too big for the phone to handle..
