VX7000-Locking Options

Is it possible to set the locking arrangement such that the phone locks on "power up" while also allowing you to unlock and lock the phone while it is in "standby" (without having to shut the phone down). If so, how is this done?

Thanks,

Brian

yes you can.. Go to menu > system > security. You need to have a lock code. Mine was set by the guy at verizon to the last 4 digits of my number, but 0000 is common too. After you enter the password, you can change it and set it up so when the phone turns on it locks.

I suspect on the newer phones, the software is set up to set the default lock code to the last fouir digits of your phone number. I recently had a Samsung brand new out of the box untouched by VZW hands and I had to call to get it on the air. Sure enough, the lock code was the last four of the phone number. Ditto my LG 7000. 😁
