Open the phone and take the disco lights out?

I have a feeling the V710 isn't going to come out in 4 days so I'm going to be stuck with this phone which I am happy with except for the blinking lights. Is there any site that explains how to take apart the housing, and get at those lights so I can possibly take them out? Maybe I'm just crazy in thinking this is possible, but hopefully its possible. Thanks

I know you can take off the faceplate by removing the 4 rubber pieces next to the inside main screen. They just pop out. Then there are 4 tiny phillips screws underneith the rubber pieces you have to take out.

I saw that; but I have a feeling there that wont access the front LCD area. Please post if you find any info on it. I would love to see blue replacement aftermarket LEDS.

I have looked everywhere and have not found a way to do this either....but would appreciate any info. Right now I have a piece of black electrical tape covering the lights....effective, but not very good looking.

I have until fri. to return the phone and if I see any legitimate sign(infomanager, etc)of the 710 coming out in early august, I am returning the 7000. It is too bad, because it is a good phone otherwise.

I have also sent feedback to verizon suggesting a disable option for their next version of sw.

I understand each has his or her own opinion. But I can't really understand why this is such a big deal. Some have suggested its not "professional". Do these same people have dance music for ringtones? What's the difference? I'm defending the phone because I really like it. Doesn't matter to me a single bit if people keep it or return it because of the lights. I'm a professional and the lights don't bother me a bit nor the people I work with. Goofy disco music does, however. Come to think of it, the lights have helped me find the phone at night when it rang while I was asleep! Ah well, its a great phone and everyone has to decide if it works for them. I just can't figure out why the lights are any issue at all.

Where are the disco lights anyway? Are they above the front LCD on that silver rectangle with the yellow dot on it?

Yes. Some folks on this board don't like them. Some love them. Probably some don't care! 😳

I think they are very helpfull! If my phone is on silent and I have it sitting somewhere in my line of sight it gets my attention. I have a feeling thats why these colored lights are there. Like the 6000 they were there to get your attention
