"Call Screening" feature?
the PS.com features listing says the VX7000 has a features called Call Screening and describes it as:
"A digital "answering machine", replacing voice mail, which plays an announcement and records messages on the phone. The user can listen to a caller while they leave a message, and optionally answer the phone. Unlike voice mail, airtime is used while the caller is leaving the message."
anyone know how to use and/or access this?
Is it even enabled with the current software revision? if not, anyone have any idea when it might be released?
...
I have no idea, but try to browse the menus for messages or something.
The feature means that you dont have to call your own cell phone # to look at your messages. You just have to access the thing w/o wasting an airtime minute.

ya.. i've looked through every menu option.. nothing.

Try the manual. I saw it off the internet. Maybe page 82. If you dont see it there, i dont know what to do

ya..... thats just a shortcut to your voicemail notifications and also a shorcut to *86. could it be that phone scoop has the phone listed wrong? who would know? i normally wouldn't be all worried.. but an onboard answering machine is a great feature i would love to have.

The LG VX6000 has the Answering Machine in the menus as well. Menu, 9,7. However no matter what it is set to unanswered calls go right to Verizon's voice mail ... not your phone.
The way I understood it the phone records the callers message as a voice note on the phone.
...
what do you mean "as well" i can't even find the feature on my VX7000?
also, the phone is supposed to support voice memos.. ie leaving yourself a voice memo reminder... but i can't find that either.
