Herk,

I'm heading to Yokota for a few days and have a couple of questions for you:

1) Did you use your 7k while in the ROK?

2) Is there a setting to make it so the phone could be on and usable for photo/video/etc without draining the battery in roaming?

3) Have you used the Verizon international travel package thing they offer?

1. No. It is possible but you have to get the Korean PRL (Preferred Roaming List) loaded into your phone. It will replace the current one you have. Only certain stores have the list so you must call ahead of time and plan for up to an hour load time. My experience is to make sure you get a tech on the line at the store and if he/she starts mumbling or claiming you can't use the phone in Korea, hang up and move to the next store. When you get back to the US you have to reprogram your phone using *228.

2. Not that I'm aware.

3. Yes and no. If you want to use your 7k you have to have International Calling turned on. VZW was unable to tell me the cost of calls in Korea, and referred me to SKT (South Korea Telecom) for pricing. Y...
