vx7k vs. a670

I currently have a Kyocera QCP3035, which I love, but it's getting old and I figure it's time to upgrade. My roommate just got an a670 which he loves, but I'm torn between it and the VX7000.

One factor to consider is price. I can get the Samsung for much cheaper I think (I think I can get $100 off from New Every Two), but there might be a price drop on the 7000 after the vx8000 come out.

Other than that, I think I'm leaning towards the LG but I need to see both in the store. One thing I like about my 3035 is the UI...it's always seemed to me to be more intutitive/easier to use than other cell interfaces. I like how on the a670 you can set the menu to the same 3x3 grid layout that I find useful on my 3035. How is the UI on the v...

If you go with the NE2 for replacement, check out the prices on the website. I just got the vx7k for $79.99. It was the best money I've ever spent.

The interface on my phone is great. I have had it for about 10 days, and there is zero problem finding what I need fast. The one-click access to the camera is outstanding. I don't care too much about the red menu bars that you'll read about on this board, and speakerphone isn't important to me.

What I want and get from this device is clear and constant phone connectivity, a useful calendar, and cool extras. Just got the Sumo game (funky cool) from Get It Now, and the web browser (though not full web access) is superior and quick. My 2 cents for you.

After much and many hours of research and reading I am going to purchase the 7k on Monday.
I looked at the A670 really hard. But a couple of things bothered me after talking with owners and reading reviews.
Ringers are not that loud and the battery life is not great. So that one is out.
Looked at the upcoming 8K. It is going to be larger than the 7k and battery life is not as good. Plus who knows when it is even going to hit the stores!
Last one was the upcoming Motorola V710. Every Verzion wireless sales person that I spoke to told me to stay away from Motorola. One even told me that his buddy is a Verzion tech that was testing the phone and had to send two of them back!! V710 is out!
So the only real choice is the 7K. Read the revie...

I've owned the Samsung A790 and am constantly helping my Dad with his older Samsung 310 (I think). I've also talked to several store reps and CSR's on the phone and come to the one conclusion: Samsung is the least user friendly in its menus. I'm sure there are folks that just love their Samsung and will claim its soooooo simple to use. Maybe so, but not for me.

On the other hand, I found the LG 4500 that I messed around with in a store and my 7000 to be very user friendly and the menus nearly intuitive.

There are lots of other small quirks about Samsung I didn't like: selection of ringers, volume control of everything, and lack of the ringer being heard in the hands free headset, to name a few.

I recommend you take at least hal...

thanks herkdrvr, Hookman49, and GrokMakeFire.

Right now, here's how it stands. Both it seems are nice phones, but -

reasons against VX7000: blue front panel, unpopular red menu, disco lights, cost

reasons against a670: battery life issues, ringer volume issues, reception issues.

The a670 problems are clearly more significant than the mainly cosmetic ones against the vx7000. I'll check out both at the store this weekend some time and decide if the cost is worth it. With NE2 the lg would be $80 but the samsung wouldn't cost anything.

Actually, come to think of it I don't know much about NE2...I've had my 3035 from Verizon for just about 2 years but I don't know if we ever explicitly signed up for that program. I've heard...
