If anyone here wants to know how to do the following, read on:

Uploading/Downloading Pictures/Wallpapers to and from your VX7000:
1) Purchase a USB cable for a VX 6000 phone (they dont make ones for
7000 yet unless you pay $50 at verizon)
I bought one on ebay for $10 (just search for VX 6000 cable)
2) Once you receive your USB cable, it will not fit into your 7000
until you use a file/sand paper to carefully file down the slotted
side of the part that goes inside the phone. (you will know what i'm
talking about when you see it). Make sure you file slowly, blow off
any shavings, and try to fit it. If doesnt fit, file some more, and
do this until you can fit the cord in the phone all the way. I used a
nail filer to file it away.. ...

I hate to be picky, and this looks to be helpful, but the link to the drivers isn't too pure. As in it doesn't work. Can you repost it again? Thanks

Thanks. I've read your threads on HoFo and here. Of course, I can't get either BitPim or the Q program to recognize the phone. Sigh.... I suspect its the cable but not sure. I've followed every instruction to the letter and I'm not exactly computer stoooopid. Using BitPim, the phone is only seen as a modem on COM5 but it won't get the info under the filesystem tab. Gives an error. Using QPST, I've gone to the configuration tab and tried every COM port I have (even though the phone shows up as a modem on COM5). No go, says there isn't a phone there. I used the drivers you published.

The only thing left I can think of is the cable. Its a real deal LG cable from LG Land (Korea) that fits the phone perfectly. However there wasn't ...

More info... when plugging in the phone via USB cable, it recognizes the phone as a modem (composite modem) but it also sees it as an Unknown Device. There are no compatible modems so it shows up in the Device Manager as an Unknown with a question mark. Weird. 😳

it is possible its the cable, im not sure. from what you are telling me, its most likely the drivers werent installed properly. did you install other drivers prior to the USB 6000 ones? If you did, try uninstalling ALL drivers for the phone, reboot. Install the USB 6000 drivers, plug in your phone. What operating system are you on?

I'll try the uninstall/install drivers in a day or two. I'm using Win XP Home Ed. I'll let you know, thanks! 🙂
