Recording ringtones
How does it work? You can actually press a button and speak into it to make ringtones or hold it up to a speaker and record the sound? That's kinda kewl. My friend can say "pick up pick up pick up" and it will ring with his voice?

Yes...All you have to do is go under the sounds menu and where all the ringtones are stored, select "Record New" and you can record whatever you like (voices, sounds, music, etc.)

Do these things sound good if i played Guns N roses on the computer and recorded it on the phone and use it as a ringtone?

Yes - the phone records sounds well, so you would probably need to experiment with holding the phone at different distances from the speaker. It picks up sound so well, that sometimes you think that it won't be loud enough, but it is. For example, if you record your voice as a ringtone, if you talk too loud, it can sound distorted. That says a lot for the quality of the phone and its ability to record sounds.
