Phone Turn-off
My phone just randomly turns off sometimes. And I try to turn it back on and it doesn't work. So I take out the battery and put it back in and it works. My phone is fully charged but I don't know why it just keeps turning off. Any ideas...please help... âšī¸
Thanks

Sounds like...a Motorola! đ
Seriously, if I had to guess, as the former owner of a couple of 270C's, you most likely have put in some combination of settings and/or a file and/or filled your memory to the point where the phone crashes. Really the best thing to do would be a master reset and clear (I know, I know, real answers are a pain to get at), then see if it continues to happen, to rule out a factory issue. Assuming it doesn't happen again after that, go back and reinstate your settings and files until it happens again, and then you've got your culprit. The hardest thing is that like all such issues, it's intermittent, so you could go for days without seeing the problem, even if the right conditions for it exist.

Well, therein lies the problem. I think the master clear does in fact clear all your entries, while master reset clears all your settings (don't quote me on that, but that would "make sense" to me based on the names of the options). If you have the Motorola data cable and MPT 2.0 you're ok on re-syncing the phone book, and if you have a Tflash card you can get your ringers and music back on there (and your photos off, of course)...but if you don't I'm not sure what the best option is. âšī¸
Unfortunately my suggestion is a probably "good way to troubleshoot", but not necessarily "easy to implement"!

Oh, to answer your first question, should you want to do this, the master clear/reset options are somewhere in the menus - maybe under "settings", "inital setup" or something like that. They're at the bottom of the list.
But caveat, you *will* lose all your settings and files, so don't do it unless you're prepared to re-enter that stuff, have copies/backups, etc.
