FIRMWARE???????
ok as some of you may notice I am new to this. but what exactly is firmware and how is helpful or not helpful in the 710????? when I get the 710 should I get firmware also????

Firmware is the software that drives the phone. Since there are a "few" shortcomings in the V710 ... people are hoping that Motorola will fix alot of these issues with a new version of the firmware. This is not something you will buy, or download off the net. If it happens at all you will most likely have to bring your phone to a Verizon tech center, and have them "flash" the phone with the new firmware.
