well for one it has 1000mbs of storage..

and because i'm sure someone retarded will say " who needs that much space for email" you can also use it to store things...i store alot of .exe files so if i'm at a computer job or someplace that i need something most of my files are accessible.......all in one place.

For most people, the amount of storage will probably be unused, but its great marketing and great for the few who will use it.

Things I like about GMAIL:
Compound conditions on filters
you can apply a label if something is
from bill OR jack OR sue OR jim
Spam filtering. I've forwarded an ISP
account that gets hit with a lot of
spam. Gmail's filters catch a lot more
than the ISP's.

Things I don't like:
Labels. Sorry, Google, but I prefer
folders. Labels aren't better, just
workable.

What's fascinating is how the folks at Google have turned the GMail thing into a "must have" simply by the way they are distributing accounts.

The "invite" idea makes people think they actually want to have this type of email account, even if they are perfectly happy with what they have now. When people see others getting invited, they want in too.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it - my GMail invite will go unused. I am not impressed with the featureset.
