MP3 Quality
Hey
I'm just finishing making some ringtones. I was just wondering what quality people have been using that sound the best on the phone, like Bitrate, Frequency HZ, and also what channel do you use, Mono?
Thank you

Sparky235, I've used a different method, but since you have iTunes it will be much easier for you. Someone had posted a while back on how to do this, I believe it was GTAWYDRVR, and this is his site and directions http://mysite.verizon.net/vze8kn4d/gtawydrvr/ id5.html, good luck.

Thanks for the response. I did check GTAWYDRVR post, and its great! However....in #7 on "Convert the file to a MP3" - all my files are MP3s...and I have the option of converting it to AAC...what is that?
Thanks...

You need to change asetting in Itunes. Go to edit/preferences...select the tab "importing" and change the "import using" setting to mp3 encoder. When you make the ringtone, it willnow be in mp3 format and not AAC.

I use 96kbt, 44khz and Stereo. The size of the mp3 is no longer than 35 sec. I also used a program called "mp3gain" this program increase the volume of the mp3 so that it sounds louder. Most mp3 from albums are 89 db. I usally increase the mp3 to about 100 db to 101 db depending on the quality and how may instruments I hear in the mp3. Try this out and see how you like it. My phone's memory currently is loaded with about 15 ringtones that I created and I still have room for about 5 more.
Remember to keep your ringtones no longer than 35 sec.
