Blue tooth

What exactly is blue tooth ? I keep hearing that it's not up to its full potential...which is what ? The only thing that I'm aware of is that blue tooth is wireless, but what are the other capabilties of this system ? Oh and honestly is the v710 worth the money ?

Definition:

"Wireless technology that provides wireless links between mobile computers, mobile phones, other portable handheld devices, and connectivity to the Internet. Considered as a replacement for an infra red system."

Bluetooth has a number of defined (standard) profiles that are used for different functionality between different devices. For example a device with bluetooth needs to have a "headset Profile" in order to work with a bluetooth headset.

Most bluetooth enabled devices (for example, PDA's) come with many of these different profiles, so you can connect many different bluetooth enabled devices.

The complain about the V710 is that Verizon deliberately ELIMINATED all the profiles that would let you SYNC the phone w...
