Dial *22899 send, this may reset the code to the last 4 of the MTN.

MTN= Mobile Telephone Number

and *22890 Is programming with no prompts
*22892 Is the update roaming w/ no prompts
*22899 is push of firmware/prl/and update all in one, no prompts (used for PDA phones, and data cards)

There are other *228 codes too, listed elsewhere on the web, I don't recommend toying with them though as some program the A/B side PRL for your market. So if you live in Chicago like me and use the wrong code, you might get a U.S. Cellular PRL and firmware push, and then that would be fun 😈

Oops.

DON'T USE *22892 it should be *22891.

*22892 will change the B side settings. This will work in some-markets but not others. Best not to mess with it.

Sorry, good thing I caught this.

*22899 does not update the software (firmware). If it did it would take hours not 30 - 60 seconds as it does now. Only way to get a software update is at VZW hooked up to a PST computer. *22899 is just programing and prl.
