MP3 file limits

I recently got a T-flash card and now i want to put mp3s on my v710... So, after formatting the memory card w/ the phone, and then moving the mp3's in question to my phone, i decided to see what they sounded like. The first was 6:31 (min:sec) & 6MB (128kbit, 44.1KHz, stereo) and the second was 170:17 (min:sec) & 79.8MB (64kbit, 44.1KHz, mono). The first file played all the way through with no problem while the second longer file never started to play... All that happened was the controls graphic started changing. That is, the play button toggled between the 'play' and 'pause' symbols, while the 'ffwd' & 'rwd' symbols toggled to 'prev' & 'last' track. Has anyone run into this problem? Is there a limit on the size of the mp3 that can be ...

So, while that answer doesn't help me one bit, i guess that the next logical set of questions would be what are the largest files that anyone has successfully played on their v710?

OMg WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. wtf are you gonna do with a song thats 100 minutes long??? Much less a 10 minute song. You people are ridiculous.. just set them as ringers.. dont waste your time putting 80meg files life if it was an external harddrive or something

The point of the mp3 is not as a ringtone. It is 80MB large because it is a 2+ hour dj mix of house music. While for most genres of music, this isnt an issue, for people who listen to things such as classical and electronic music, it is much more common. Think outside of your box d00d.

So, once again, gimme help if you have any clue as to what might be going on... dont yell at me just to be a b!tch. be helpful, not an instigator. That is what this forum is for.

Rob,

I don't have an answer for you, but don't let that litobirdy person get to you. He is so rude and tries to rile everyone up. I don't know why he even wastes his time and energy writing negative stuff.

Good luck, I hope you find an answer.

The phone has a problem with some mp3s. It doesn't see the end of the file correctly. Size is not an issue. Re-encode your mp3 and it should work. Some of my mp3s would stop at the end also. I downloaded Audacity from CNET and the lame mp3 encoder (all free) and re-encoded them and never had the problem again. There is no need to move the mp3 to the phone memory unless you want to use it as a ringtone.

Also, you may want to think about breaking up the song into a few files. You can't fast forward or rewind the mp3, so it might be a way to start off close to where you left off. I had the Eddie Murphy Delerious mp3 on my phone and I kept getting interrupted. I got really sick of hearing the jokes at the beginning, so I broke it up and that kept me a little more sane.

You're absolutely right. I've tried doing it a few times and it never worked. Now all of a sudden you tell me I can, I try it, and it works. Maybe now you can tell me that I can transfer files via BT and it will work after I try it again 🤣

Thanks for letting me know and for doing so in such a way that I don't feel like an idiot.
