Motorola V710

I've read just about every post before typing this for fear that this was already answered, but alas it wasn't (to my knowledge). I take pix on a regular basis with my V710 and I've been storing them on the Transflash 128 with no problem. I recently bought a 6-in-1 Card Reader by Digital Concepts. Loaded the drivers from the CD since my Windows 98 did not come pre-equipped with the required Drivers. I hooked up the reader via USB. Found the Motorola file in the SD drive created by the Reader. Went to Shared Files, then Pictures, and then...all the pictures have a small 'x' on them! When I double click on them they do not open and sometimes the screen freezes as if there is a corrupt file.
