Motorola V710

I would like to use the bluetooth function on my IPAQ 5550 PDA, primarily to reach the internet and email, when I'm not attached to a WiFi netword. For this I need another bluetooth mobile device. I already have Verizon cellphone service. I'd like to buy the V710, primarily because it won't cost me anything further for service. But I've read that Verizon cripples the Bluetooth function in significant ways. Does that effectively mean that I'll be severely limited in my use of the Bluetooth on my IPAQ PDA? In what ways?
