Instructions Inside - How to use TransFlash for MP3 ringtones

Sure this has been posted before but now it's at the top of the pile 🙂

These instructions are for taking an MP3 from your computer and using it as a ringtone. Transflash is required. Buy it on Amazon - it comes with an SD Adapter. USB Cable is required. Buy it from Motorola.com

Instructions
=============
Start with a 25 second MP3 file.

PC/Transflash Steps
-------------------
Step 1. Copy .mp3 file into transflash folder /motorola/browser/usr/ringtone
Step 2. Rename the file extension .mid
Step 3. Remove Transflash and replace it in the phone

Phone/Transflash Steps
----------------------
Step 1. Go to: Main Menu/Media Gallery/Sounds
Step 2. Go to: Sound Menu (popup menu)
Step 3. Go to: Switch Storage Device

if you are using a transfalsh card u dont have to rename the extension to .mid.... will work just the same if u leave it as .mp3. Also u can put it in the audio folder and it will work just the same. But other than that ur instructions are spot on.

"motorola" is a folder.

When you insert the Transflash card into your PC you will be given access to a new drive.

The motorola folder will be the first folder on the drive.

ie. e:/motorola/

Maybe I'm stupid, but what do you need the USB cable for?

Since Verizon has crippled Bluetooth you must use a USB cable to connect your phone to the computer.

True however, this is only necessary for Mobile Phone Tools so in fact you're right - for this guide a USB cable is not necessary - only an SD Adapter.
