Well.... I just bought this phone yesterday and am seriously thinking of letting Verizon have it back. But, I am going to give it a little more of a chance. I am coming from a Samsung i300 from Sprint and so far I miss the PDA features and customer support that Sprint offers. If nothing else, I might trade this one for a Palm Treo 600, but I would rather have a clam shell profile and I really don't need all the functionality of a true smartphone. BUT, I really need these features:
Check e-mail - Done (w/SodaPopMail)
Sync Calendar w/ Outlook - ?
Sync Phonebook w/ Outlook - ?
So I bought the "Mobile Office" kit that verizon sells and I still can't sync with Outlook. I can import and export my phonebook into Windows, then I guess I...

I hope you get some other replies because I will only be able to give you partial info. First, I know nothing of the treo.
Second, I went through exactly the same issue and posted several requests here asking for anyone with experience in both Verizon Mobile Office (VMO) and Mobile Phone Tools (MPT). Unfortunately, I never got the info I was looking for - Outlook sync feedback.
Third, like you, I purchased VMO and found the same limitation you found. I returned VMO and bought MPT. MPT does sync both calendar and phonebook. However, my experience (so far) indicates these are two seperate syncs. The first sync appeared, from windows view, to sync both but I had to go back and do a seperate sync for the calendar. I have not played wi...

I wouldn't care to have to push 2 or 3 buttons to sync the data as long as it gets a good sync. So are you saying that you are getting a good sync but you just have to hit a few buttons?
...
Would you like me to post the MPT program for your downloading perusal?
...
seems like MOTO and Verizon are pushing more of your buttons than you are on their phone. hehe

It is turned on now. 😎

Sent. see the e-mail address in there if you need more info... sometimes "detecting" the phone is a real bitch... but such is life with USB devices...
...
If you like it, please pay fo rit when the version 3.X is released to the public... I plan to do this myself, rather than spendign $30 on 2.x which doesn't work with the 710 and then paying $10 or $15 more for the upgrade...
It's like OSS... if you like the program, shout the coder a pint! 🙂

Just in an effort to keep everyone "in the know", if you are interested in syncing the V710 with Outlook, MPT 3 definately gets the job done. I am very happy with the results I saw and will definately purchase this software when it is released. It syncs with almost the same detail as Hotsync for Palm - it just doesn't sync the extra stuff like addresses and company names, but it does get e-mail addresses. Once I got it set up, it syncs the calendar and phonebook with one button. Great stuff! I'm happy now. =]

Like I said in my original post, "syncing" by exporting to csv then importing it to Outlook is not a sync at all because if you change items on both your phone and computer, then you lose the changes made by one of the systems. I need a sync that can detect which items have changed and keep my changes.
