Length of rings

Bandy1080

I have had various MP3s as my ringtones since I first got the phone. Before when I had it on Vibe/Ring the phone would vibrate and then the 30 second song would play and THEN go to voicemail. Now lately for some reason I get only 10 seconds of the song before it goes to voicemail. Has anyone else had this problem or have a solution for it? Thanks.

Not sure, but try calling 611 and speaking with a cs rep to ask what your ring setting is in their system. From what I remember it is set to 4 by default before voicemail, I had mine changed to 6, and I think the max is eight. Most people never know that this can be changed from the head-end on your account. Give that a try, and let me know how it goes, with a follow-up post.

Godd luck! 😁

I work for VZW and they changed the length about a year ago from 15 seconds to 30 seconds... so no matter what it should ring for at least 30 seconds. It might seem shorter cause of the ring you have

Hope this helps

Ok, not knocking you because you work for vzw, but your incorrect. You can change your ring from any of the below. VZW has it auto set on 6 rings = 30 seconds.

3 rings = 15 sec
4 rings = 20 sec
5 rings = 25 sec
6 rings = 30 sec
7 rings = 35 sec
8 rings = 40 sec

So, to answer the question of only ringing for 10 seconds, that's not a voice mail length issue.

I know because I work in the call center as a Verizon Cust Serv Rep in the SC callcenter.

It basically means it would ring for 40 sec before going to voicemail. Call cust serv and they can do it for you. just tell them you want to change your vm settings to 40 seconds before it goes to voicemail.

Thats one I'd have to read the instruction manual for. I'm pretty sure that means from the time your phone starts to vibe or ring, it will do so for 40 seconds, then send it to voicemail
