Info on the recall
Just an FYI because I in VZW cust service and I've heard nothing of the recall. I emailed our methods and procedures group, giving them the info that everyone here is saying, including the email from our other dept.
They said that our marketing department is working on a communication. Per marketing, it is not a recall. It is exactly what is stated in the email that you received from vzw.com
They also said customer service should get more info on it within the next day or two.
Hopefully I will have more info for you soon.

I just got off the phone with a tech person at VZW and he knew nothing of the recall. I asked him this because my phone was getting barely any reception when a week ago I was getting full service in my area (Brighton, right near Boston) he made a note and told me to go into a VZW store and trade in my phone for a new one. On another note, I called the Verizon wireless store in Natick and they told me that they had pulled the V710s off the shelf because of a recall. Go figure. Poor communication?
