Warrenties and VZW

There has been alot of talk about Verizons crappy policies on warr replacements and exchanges on this and every message board.

I would just like to remind everyone that Verizon wireless does not Warrenty any phones. Manufactures Warrenty phones, hence why they call it a Manufactuers warrenty.

Warrenty Policies are set by the Manufacturer. They all have similar clauses to there warrenty, about physical damadge done to the phone and the like. They all also set different usage limits as to when a deffective phone should be replaced with a brand new, non refurbished unit.

These are not Verizons rules.

Also I would like all of you to try and warrenty replace a piece of electonics you buy at Best Buy, or any other store. They are g...

Well maybe verizon shouldn't advertise that they have a "worry free guarantee" and that they take care of problems the first time you call/visit. I don't care who makes the phone, if you sell it you are the face/store I see and where I expect to go when I have a problem.
every single time I've had a defective phone verizon gives me the run around for an hour, has a tech look at it and then say it's fixed, when 3 days later it happens again. and i waste another 3 hours at the service center. (the most horribly ran stores ever)(*i work for verizon trust me i know)
These stores give the customers "it's a manufactures warryty issue" because they don't want to deal with it.($$) Maybe the manufacture should cover some of the costs for verizon an...

Well you don't have to take a FRU we don't make you do anything/ But we don't have to give you a new phone for a 3 month old one either. And you can always checkt he call timer to know how old it is. Those don't get cleared out after the get refurbished.

And again I would like to know any other product you can get replaced at the store where you buy it.

IF that aint worry free enough for you I suggest you go ahead and try this process some place else.

Maybe you should relize that you arnt the center of the world and can't always get what you want.

I think the beatles did a song about that

Verizon can't have their cake and eat it too. The sell the v710 through rather exclusive arrangements with Motorola. This effectively makes Verizon the sole vendor, which they (rightfully) use to their advantage to fetch a premium price on a product only they market. This close partnering with Motorola is hard to dispute: the firmware on the v710 has been heavily modified (crippled bluetooth comes to mind) to conform to Verizon's business model. The quantity and ferocity of the complaints on this forum regarding the v710--and Motorola's ongoing recall of that phone--clearly indicate the product has issues. Therefore, Verizon had better graciously accept the role of "warranty service center" for their product. Motor...

I agree with all but the first part of what you are saying here, but Moto is also taking orders from AllTel and Cingular. So VZW is not the sole vendor.

You can also purchase it directly from Moto, on EBay or from resellers like this one

WE need to work BOTH companies. The Class Action lawsuit idea seems to be having some effect.

and if any service provider has a relationship with Moto it would be nextel, they have loads of models of Moto phones that VZW and Cinguler don't. Currently VZW carries two modles the v710 and the v60P. That would hardly be a exclusive arangment wouldn't it.

VZW does handle war issues gracusly and quickly. What you have to realize is that they can't give you the moon and the stars. You have a defective non working phone, you bring it in, we either fix the problem or replace it with a tested refurbished phone.

Again you spend $600 on a stereo reciever, best buy is going to tell you to ship it to the manufactuer. This is not the quality service you get at a VZW store. There you get answer to your problems and get your phone fixed or replaced. The same process manufacturers go throught when deffective equipment gets shipped to them. They either repair it, or replace it with a refubished modle.
