digital photos won't go onto transflash card

I can take a pic with my phone and store it on the transflash card, but if I copy a .jpg pic from my computer onto the transflash, the card becomes inaccessible in the phone. This seems to be the case whether I use a Mac or Windows computer. HOW CAN I GET OTHER PHOTOS ONTO THE TRANSFLASH CARD? 😕

I have succesfully transfered many pictures from my pc to the tf card, my only suggestion is maybe making the file size a bit smaller. But I don't really know how succesful that will be.
