☚ī¸ As suggested by Diego (3213) of Motorola Software Support Team, I formatted the TF card in the Windows PC and then in the 710 phone. I took a picture with my telephone camera and saved it to the TF. I can access this thru the Media Gallery, Pictures every time.

But when I copy a photo I had taken with my digital camera, reduced to 66 Kb. To the TF, I can no longer access the Media Gallery, Pictures area and, of course, cannot see that photo on my phone. Moreover, when I deleted the photo from the TF, I could still see the picture I had taken with the telephone camera, but I could not access the Media Gallery, Pictures area, and I cannot do that unless I remove the TF or reformat the TF!

Every time I changed the TF card, I turned ...

I had a problem when I first got my TF card. Turned out it was the phone.

One of the things I could not do was format the card. It formated fine on a PC though. So I brought the card to a VZW store and tried formatting it in the demo phone. Formatted just fine.

I showed it to the techs and the swapped out my phone. Try putting your card into another V710 and see if you get the same results.

I took it to A Verizon tech center, 20 miles away!, and tried it in a brand new phone. Same result. Also, I have swapped my phone for another, but the same result.

DEFRAG the TF card before "ejecting" it before actually physically removing it...

make sure it's set to defrag files AND free space... for some reason the phone doesn't like when stuff isn't contiguous...

do you mean to defrag the card in the PC after transferring the photos and before removing it to replace it in the phone? 😕

right...

transfer files
defrag
eject
remove

in that order... don't forget to "eject" the drive first...

Sponge--you are a genius! You are the only person to suggest defrag and it worked!
The routine I follow, for everyone who needs it, it to format the TF card on he PC, then format it in the 710 phone, then reduce photos to about 100 Kb and copy them onto the TF card. Then defrag the TF card (accessories, system tools, defrag) then right click on the drive containing the TF card and click on eject, then remove the card reader from the PC and put the TF card into the phone (which should be off whenever you remove or replace the TF card).
Thanks again Sponge.

Now, if only I could get the bluetooth to work a little better.....
