I have a few more days to return my V710 I bought last week. I’m worried about this recall. Seeing Verizon take the phone off their web site is disheartening. Even the GetItNow store (http://www.vzwshop.com/ginstore/) does not have the V710 listed.

Honest answer if you're not going to use the bluetooth---yes...But the mp3 player is handy if you have the ability to use it. All you need to do is use a cable for the file transfers. You need to weigh out the extras of which you do use, dont use, and dont know how to but will eventually learn how to use.
For me the customized mp3 ringtones and GIF animations are fun, and I really use the speakerphone. All I really need is the 9900, but it does feel good knowing you got a phone thats got great capabilities compared to majority of people out there. Also take note, the v710 has given me service that no other phone has...underground in NYC subways.
Good luck 🙂
