Bluetooth Dream

I am at my desk. I need to add a phone number to my phone, which is clipped to my belt or in my pocket/briefcase. I key in the contact on my computer which in turn syncs to the phone using BT. I get into the car, and have the ability to call the new contact by scrolling through the address list using a steering wheel button. The contact calls me, his/her caller ID comes up on the dashboard screen, music is muted, I take the call. Its a server down emergency. I pull over and park the car, turn off the engine. BT unpairs with the phone. I open up my laptop the phone pairs with the laptop to give me a broadband connection. (currently only DUNS available with some phones). I connect to the internet take care of business and am back on the road r...

Yes, definetly, but don't expect it from verizon. 3rd party software developers are definetly capable of that and much more..

when newer technology is involved there are always problems

what is it about you that thinks verizon is causing these problems as a personal attack on its customer base -- they have the best service in my area - colo and i have had nothing but pleasent experiences with cust service -- your problems are with the phone -- a motorola phone that i love but has some bugs that will or won't be worked out -- be a true voter vote with your patronage and go get cingular or qwest and when you can get service call and complain to their sevice techs other wise shut up

quit reading 1984 -- it is the double oughts here and there is no conspiracy against you.

You are an idiot. I said nothing reguarding verizon, other than that they would probably not be the ones to offer any such technology first. Verizon STILL does not, at this point, offer any complete bluetooth package, wereas GSM carriers and 3rd party software developers have been using complete bluetooth capibilities for years. Again, you are an idiot.

thanks for resorting to name calling -- your post had 20 or so words in and one of them was verizon so i believe that you did say something about verizon. you said "don't expect it from verizon"

Wow.. you, again, are an idiot. Did you read my last post? I agreed that I said something about verizon, just nothing that had to do with what you were bitching about. This is all from your first [worthless] post:

"what is it about you that thinks verizon is causing these problems"
- LOL I never said verizon was causing problems

"they have the best service in my area - colo and i have had nothing but pleasent experiences with cust service"
Who said anything about customer service? What the hell is wrong with you?

"when newer technology is involved there are always problems "
I didn't mention any problems whatsoever, especially reguarding bluetooth. The point ...

This is the type of s#!^ that I think should be left out of this forum. First off this was a general comment not made directly at your comments but rather at the whole forum. Second you must have been thinking VZW was causing the problems even though it was not said.
(maybe because they CRIPPLE everything?..)

So lets leave the grade school name calling out of it, this is not a play ground. and stop filling the forum with bull s#!^

I think I smell a VZW infiltrator...

Note: No flames please. I know there are VZW folks here who do have good info and are open about their employment status...just having a little fun with post.

Not at all an employee of VZW. I'm actually in the Class Action initiative. Look up in this forum and see.

Very pissed that my neighbor can use his phone integrated with his car and I can't, after signing a 2 year contract w/ VZW on the release of V710.

My affiliated company in the UK is about a year ahead of us in the USA on the functionality addressed in my thread. Check the foreign car forums and you will see.

Yeah, it's OK to have fun, but really aggravating waiting for Verizon to hopefully step up to the plate.

Possible 🙂 but not yet probable ☚ī¸ . The makers of your computers car and phone would have to agree upon one way of communication đŸ¤Ŗ . That is why the 710 works 100% with gm 😁 and 0% with jeep 🙄 . A standard would need to be developed đŸ‘ŋ .

I know that the DUN function works great between my Mac Laptop and v710. Its got pretty quick transfer rates at 144k (not necessarily broadband though) and only uses airtime minutes (which i called vzw to confirm to make sure I wasn't being charged for some data packet service). Its great in a pinch to check an email or a movie time.

you are out of luck with the BT phone book sync until someone provides a hack and I think its potluck between the phone and the cars.

I bought this phone for the voice activated dialing, the speaker phone, the BT DUN, and the BT file sync with my Mac.

I went 3 for 4!! (I bought the USB cable for the file sync)

I could complain but this phone has made my life easier and I believe that is what te...

I have to agree. This phone itself is great. I love that I can use the voice dial mode with 90% accuracy. I love that I can listen to mp3 music, answer calls in the gym, and get text message without missing a beat of music. I love that I can use a wireless headset and get most of my calls. Verizon: I love that I can talk to other VZW customers 24/7 and never get charged a minute. I can have dinner with friend 1600 miles away. Are there problems? Yes! I want the phone to sync with my outlook calendar, I want the pictures to look right and be able to send them to anybody with a picture phone. I want my phone to respond when I push the button on my headset. These are problems but they do not outweigh the incredible advantages of the...
