The Word from Moto RE: v710 and HS810/820
Just got off the phone with 2nd tier tech support at Moto.
Apparently the knuckleheads in design decided that they didn't want the phone to ring when BT was enabled thru the 810/820 headsets. There is only a beep thru the headset.
They have no plans to change this and this guy told me that's how all Moto phones work with BT headsets.
When I told him Nokia BT phones ring when using the 810, he didn't seem to czre and flat out said Moto wouldn't be changing this.
If this is the case I'll be dumping this phone and will not be purchasing anymore Moto products.

Not sure but feel confident that I read moto 600 rings with bt headsets. I think that guy was wrong because as far as I have read, this issue is not just 810/820 but also applies to Plantronics, logitech, jabra, etc. I am not one to speak on this issue because I have not yet purchased any BT - just read many posts. I'm kind of waiting to see what the flash brings and also anxious to hear/read more user feedback on the newer noise canceling models that are just now hitting the market (eg, hs850 and new Jabra which has 5 ring tones and vibrate - I'm just not yet sure if those are perceptable when NOT wearing the headset). The Jabra also has an LCD for call ID but I see little value in that if the ringers/vib are only perceptable while wear...

Thanks for the info. I have heard that the v600 rings too. It seems like you can't get a straight, knowledgable answer from their own techs regarding this.
The tier one support guy suggested I write to [email protected] and suggest that they address this while the next level guy said no chance of changing this.
They seem as bad as the VZW support.
