I am switching back to VZW in December and was really looking into the V710. I have seen more negative reviews than positive for this phone. Mot supposedly worked out some of the bugs but that is still to be determined. Can someone please give an honset answer as to whether this phone is worth it or not? I plan to use the phone primarily just for phone calls and maybe the camera. In addition, I have had nothing but Mot phones in the past and always have had good luck w/ them.
Please help!! 😁

well, you sound just like me.

to be honest, if you dont care to use the bluetooth, the phone rocks. the reception is the best on the market, the speakerphone is great, the display is nice, large and clear. transferring pictures and mp3s/files from comp to phone or vice versa is fun and easy... plus, its by far the nicest looking phone verizon has to offer 😁

on the flip side, the camera isnt that great. as you probably heard it sucks at night or in poor lighting indoors, but it is actually good in the daylight...which is good enough for me. also, the earpiece isnt as loud as I would like, but i havent had a problem hearing with it. the bluetooth issue i cant comment on, since i dont use it, and dont plan to.

other than that, th...

I actually paid the full price on this phone and think it was worth it. I have had verizon since it was Bell Atlantic Mobile, and have had no complains thus far.

I have the HS810 headset for it, and love it! Reception is great, sound quality is very good, and I tend to use all the features, camera/video/mp3. Although the camera isn't the best one for a cell phone, you got to remember that it is just that... a cell phone. I would highly recommend getting the phone, in my opinion it really is the best Verizon phone out now. And since you will be getting it with a new contract, the price will be even better than what I paid.

Here's how it sums up for me:

Get this phone if:

- Bluetooth (wireless headset ONLY) is important to you - its slick and it works
- Speakerphone is important to you - didn't think I'd use it, but I do.
- You don't mind paying money for a camera that essentially doesn't work.
- Reception is important to you (e.g., you live in a rural area). This phone has good reception plus Analog as an option (most newer phones have dropped analog).

DO NOT get this phone if:

- Full Bluetooth functionality is important to you. Its crippled, and despite what you read on this forum, it will remain that way.(you'll have to choose another carrier b/c this is the only Bluetooth phone from Verizon)
- Headset speaker volume is important to you - t...

Do you need to have a Bluetooth phone, if your PDA is Bluetooth?
