The s710a is GSM. Does your carrier support both GSM and CDMA? If not, then youd have to switch to a GSM carrier to use that phone, which if you use verizon, would cost you $175 to get out of contract... If you're in one.

hey your a smart man, i'm switching to cingular and i'm gettin the s710a, it won't be restricted and its a lot betta then the v710 plus sony ericsson's known for good phones with good cameras. screw motorola and verizon.

well i'm still in high school so my pay check can go to whateva the hell i want to pay it towards, 175 is a small price to pay considerin the total amount u pay the whole 2 yrs, neways though thats not the only reason i'm gettin out of verizon, my reason's are simple, one i want a gsm carrier so i can use my phone whereva without buyin a loaner, 2 cingular is a better service and now that they merged wit att they are larger then verizon and more organized, 2 cingular do's not restrict there phones and allow a lot of freedom to do whateva u want to your phone, then we have roll ova, free internet use and roaming, i could really go on, but i rather not wait ya'll time.

I work as a physician (be more than happy to sell you my profession, for whichever idiot said that before)...and I have been strongly thinking about dropping Verizon...based ONLY on its bluetooth technology. I own a Lexus LX 470, bluetooth enabled, and it will NOT work properly with the V710--the only bluetooth phone from VZW.
I find no fault in anyone wanting to switch carriers if waht they need is a functional bluetooth phone.

i believe there is just a bit of misinformation here. first off nobody was put down persay because of their opinions, rather the improper english they spoke. I had asked what elnegros profession was because im still in school and was curious to which profession he was in with that type of english he was using combined with the ability to friviously spend money because he just wanted GSM. Nobody asked to buy your practice sir.
