Got my new handset

Just got back from the Verizon store with my new handset.

The tech claims it was a brand new unit, however, the old ESN sticker is obviously covered - the corner of the old one is visable. But no where does it say it is a FRU.

As far as the features, everything is identical except the tilt. The software is the same (no ETA on the update, tech said I will know b4 him) the bluetooth is the same and the camera is only slightly better.

I asked him if the screen was the replacement so that the keypad doesnt scratch it, he said he was unaware of the issue and that the only change was with the camera.

However, he claims I did get a new battery. not 100% sure since I can't remember any model info on the old one.

Just my experience....

I also just picked up my new 710 handset from Verizon and they also gave me a new battery with it.

This unit reads Model: V710 H/W 3.0

Could someone with the original model look at their info under the battery and see what it says.

I forgot to look and I was curious if they changed the H/W release.

Does a blue dot mean FRU?
I just got a 710 today and while it looks new, has a sticker on it with an 11/18/2004 date, has the raised bumpers and possibly something new to stop the scratches just above the camera, it also had a blue dot hiding under the edge of the dated sticker.
It had better be new cause this was not a trade, it was a new purchase.

someone stated earlier that the blue dot just meant it had been checked for crooked camera not necessarily a fru. 😁
